Stockalpers Consulting is a Belgian process and change consultancy, founded in 2010. It maps how work really flows across departments, finds the weak points with the people involved, and supports the change needed to fix them, using Lean and Agile methods.
About Stockalpers
Stockalpers Consulting was set up in early 2010 in Sint-Genesius-Rode, south of Brussels. The firm works inside organisations on process design and redesign, and also on project and change management. Its starting point is always the process: without a clear understanding of how work flows, it believes long-term solutions are out of reach. It runs workshops and interviews, structures information with methods such as SIPOC, Value Stream Mapping and data collection, and works in whatever modelling tool the client has chosen. Its approach is deliberately pragmatic: simple methods, pictures and frameworks rather than conceptual language. Stockalpers has a strong background in financial services, engineering and public organisations, with references at ING Belgium, BNP Paribas and Interbuild. In 2010 it started a partnership with ABAX Consulting, part of Grant Thornton Luxembourg since 2013, and in 2011 set up a process management service in Luxembourg.

Getting a large building project's finances under control
Hired as financial controller for a large building project in the north of Brussels, Stockalpers analysed the financial system after three months. Many financial processes were inconsistent and did not show what was going wrong. After identifying weaknesses in cost and income structures, it changed several accounting and reporting processes. Six months later, figures were under control and helped decision-makers steer the project.
Uniform customer data processes across bank channels
With the marketing department of a large bank in Brussels, Stockalpers worked on a Customer Data Management project. The goal was to redesign uniform processes for the bank's main channels: retail, private and commercial banking, and financial institutions. The project redesigned the processes and the key data to request for each type of customer, and pinpointed major weaknesses along the way.
Mapping a bank's whole IT architecture in six weeks
In 2008, Stockalpers joined a project to build the full map of the IT architecture of a major European bank, within six weeks. By drawing on boards and paper and creating open debates, the team reached its objectives. Since then, Stockalpers has regularly bridged processes and IT applications to help departments understand each other.
