Agendi is a climate and sustainability consultancy, founded by Belgian carbon accounting specialist Arnaud Brohé, with offices in New York, London and Montreal and a contact point in Brussels. It measures footprints, sets science-based targets, prepares climate reporting and sources carbon credits, removals and energy attribute certificates for companies.
About Agendi
Agendi's name comes from a Latin word meaning "what needs to be done". The firm started with three people around 2018 and had more than quadrupled in size by 2022. It is led by CEO and founder Arnaud Brohé, author of the Handbook of Carbon Accounting (2017), Managing Partner Helena Walsh and Chief Strategy Officer Valerie Van den Keybus. Agendi has offices in New York, London and Montreal, contacts in San Francisco and Brussels, and serves large organisations across North America, the UK and Europe. Its work is organised in four blocks: assessment, strategy, reporting and purposeful projects (offsetting and project origination, nature-based solutions and negative emission technologies). Published case studies cover Moody's, WRI, NRDC, Refinitiv and Work & Co, and its client logos include Imperial College London, Institut Pasteur, Steelcase, O-I and EcoVadis. Agendi has been a certified B Corporation since 2022.

What Agendi has delivered

Science-based targets and a full Scope 3 inventory for Moody's
Moody's wanted emissions reduction targets aligned with its global climate goals, which required an accurate inventory of scopes 1, 2 and 3. Agendi quantified the full Scope 3 inventory, including employee commuting surveys and data from thousands of suppliers, using site-specific primary sources across Moody's operations. It then delivered a strategic roadmap combining a 100% global renewable energy action plan, a supplier engagement programme to cut value chain emissions, and quality offsets for residual emissions from operations, business travel and commuting. On that basis Moody's set science-based targets consistent with the Business Ambition for 1.5°C, and its progress supported its CDP and TCFD disclosures.

Work-from-home, Scope 2 and financed emissions measured for WRI
WRI, co-author of the GHG Protocol, asked Agendi to quantify its work-from-home emissions, improve its Scope 2 calculations and calculate, for the first time, the emissions of its endowment portfolio. Agendi designed a survey on home office equipment, extra energy use and the home workspace, and extrapolated the answers to the whole workforce. It reworked Scope 2 using eight regional locations instead of three. For financed emissions, it benchmarked methods, selected the PCAF Standard and used company-specific CDP data, with US EPA industry factors where CDP data was missing. WRI now has a clearer view of its footprint split between office and remote work, and data to inform how its endowment is invested.
Climate scenario analysis for a full TCFD disclosure
Refinitiv already reported to CDP but needed to disclose against all 11 TCFD recommendations, including a scenario analysis of its strategy. Agendi mapped physical risks for each key site under a high emissions scenario (IPCC RCP 8.5): severe weather, water stress, heat stress, sea-level rise and flooding, with risk levels based on disruption to operations. It explored transition risks and opportunities under a below 2°C scenario (IEA Sustainable Development Scenario), with carbon price modelling of the direct impact on operations and the indirect impact on purchased goods and services. The results fed Refinitiv's enterprise risk management and allowed it to publish its first comprehensive TCFD disclosure in its sustainability report.

A first carbon footprint that engaged every employee
Work & Co, a technology and design company with 400 employees in the US, Europe and Latin America, wanted to measure its first carbon footprint and use it to engage staff. Agendi gave the team a crash course in carbon accounting, guided data collection across scopes 1, 2 and 3 and filled data gaps with expert judgement. It recommended reduction measures: LED lighting and occupancy sensors, virtual meetings instead of travel where possible, economy class travel, and more recycling and recycled catering supplies. Work & Co shared the results at an all-staff meeting and let employees vote on the offset projects to fund: a clean cookstove project in Kenya (Gold Standard) and a REDD+ project in Brazil (Verra).

“Moody’s partnership with Agendi led to a practical translation of our climate ambition into an actionable strategy, enabling us to quantify, validate and reduce our emissions footprint, set and verify science-based targets, and meet our renewable energy commitment.”
Mark Kaye,CFO, Moody's Corporation
“Agendi’s detailed and transparent approach to scenario analysis allowed Refinitiv to debut a comprehensive TCFD disclosure in our sustainability report. We look forward to exploring ways of extending, and further strengthening this analysis, as climate action becomes ever-more important across our value chain.”
Luke Manning,Global Head of Sustainability and Enterprise Risk, Refinitiv
“Agendi has been terrific at ensuring that NRDC is following best practices in calculating institutional GHG emissions. Their ambition to research and incorporate the leading standards for climate change mitigation has aligned closely with our own goals, and they have made the process of buying quality carbon offsets for both our operations and capital projects straight-forward.”
Maria McCain,Senior Sustainability Coordinator, NRDC
“Agendi's expertise and experience in helping companies achieve their climate action goals was evident throughout our engagement. But what we most appreciated was their focus on enabling us to empower our entire organization through education and awareness. While achieving carbon neutrality was an important milestone, we are even more excited about continuing to partner with Agendi on a roadmap that helps us become better global citizens and establish ESG priorities across various aspects of our business.”
