Advisory & Training

dss+ is an operations consulting firm with DuPont roots and over 50 years of experience. It helps industrial and service companies build a sustainability strategy, cut energy use and emissions, and make the change stick through culture and capability building.

About dss+

dss+ traces its roots to 1968, when DuPont began selling safety services and training. The business became DuPont Sustainable Solutions in 2010, was spun off from DuPont in September 2019 and took the name dss+ in February 2022. Since then it has added sustainability capabilities through acquisitions such as KKS Advisors for ESG consulting (2021), Sofies Group for industrial ecology and environmental sustainability (2021) and Perfect Food for agri-food sustainability (2022), and it was joined by Proaction International in 2025. The group is headquartered in Versoix near Geneva and has an office serving Belgium and the Netherlands, alongside offices in France, Switzerland and many other countries. Its consultants come from industry and academia, as coaches and engineers, and work with clients from the boardroom to the shop floor under the motto Protect, Transform, Sustain. Its offer covers safety and risk, culture transformation, sustainability and ESG strategy, energy transition and decarbonisation, operational performance and training. Verdantix recognised it as the top EHS consulting brand for preference for five years in a row, starting in 2017.

What dss+ has delivered

Migros GenèveRetail

EcoWatt: an energy-saving programme run by in-house coaches

Migros Genève, part of Migros, the number one retailer in Switzerland, wants to save 9,000 MWh and cut its direct CO2 emissions. dss+ analysed its consumption, observed behaviour in the stores and interviewed teams across the organisation, then designed the EcoWatt transformation programme: managerial routines, a catalogue of best practices and a governance model tailored to Migros. Through a train-the-trainer approach, dss+ prepared an internal team of coaches to lead the roll-out themselves. The programme started in September 2024 and has since reached 19 of the 52 sites.

An ESG 2030 roadmap for a listed flour mill group

GMSA, a flour mill group listed on the Swiss stock exchange, had limited ESG visibility and no structured sustainability governance, while investors expected more and the CSRD was coming. Over three phases from 2022 to 2025, dss+ ran a 360° sustainability diagnostic and strategy workshops, then co-developed an ESG 2030 roadmap with governance tools, decarbonisation plans and dashboards, and supplier engagement. In 2024 it helped launch a cross-functional Green Team and structured a non-financial reporting strategy aligned step by step with the CSRD.

  • Decarbonisation roadmap embedded, steering emission cuts and net-zero progress
  • Stronger ESG governance and investor confidence
  • Efficiency gains and supplier engagement for lower-carbon operations

The lifecycle carbon footprint of a run-of-river power station, before construction

The Massongex-Bex-Rhône run-of-river hydro project aims to preserve biodiversity, secure energy supply and decarbonise energy. Before construction, MBR needed a complete view of the carbon footprint of the whole infrastructure over a lifecycle estimated at 80 years or more. dss+ and MBR defined the full project scope together and integrated data on equipment maintenance, compensatory zones and access roads, while building the team's own knowledge of carbon impact.

  • A consolidated carbon footprint of each part of the project
  • Recommendations to improve the project's sustainability before construction starts

A carbon footprint for every label order

Eurostampa, an Italian multinational that has made labels for liquor, wine, chocolate, food and cosmetics brands since 1966, wanted to know the global warming potential of each of its products. With dss+, it grouped its two product categories into nine clusters and collected consumption data for at least four customer orders in each. dss+ modelled 84 label orders in the SimaPro life cycle assessment software, found 18 regression models, and turned them into spreadsheet tools that teams in the US and Italy use to calculate the footprint of any order.
