Skysun finances, installs and maintains solar panels on your roof, car park or land at no upfront cost, then sells you the green electricity they produce at a fixed rate for 10 to 20 years.
About Skysun
Skysun was started in 2017 by Léopold Coppieters and Arthur Dawans, then students, to make solar easy and affordable for businesses. It is developer, installer and energy supplier in one: Skysun finances, builds and operates solar plants on company roofs (from 200 m²), car parks (from 60 spaces) and land (from 1 hectare), and sells the power on site at a fixed price under 10, 15 or 20-year contracts. It also develops building-integrated PV with architects, including the Zinclike roof patented with Sunsoak, low-tech agrivoltaic parks lined with hedges and beehives, and battery storage near high-voltage substations. Skysun uses Tier 1 panels with a 25-year manufacturer warranty, is a certified B Corp and holds the Solar Impulse label. In 2024 it raised a €16.85 million Series A from Andera Partners and Wallonie Entreprendre to grow in France, and it has offices in Brussels, Paris, Strasbourg and Lyon.

What Skysun has delivered
Abattoirs d'AnderlechtMarket hall & heritage
Covering a listed market hall with 5,808 solar panels
The listed Abattoirs hall in Anderlecht lost its original zinc roof in the 1980s. Skysun covered it with 5,808 panels using Zinclike, a building-integrated solar roof that brings back the look of exposed zinc. The project was funded through third-party investment and a citizen crowdfunding campaign, and supplies local green power in Brussels.
The Tangla Hotel in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert wanted its sustainability commitment to match its feng shui philosophy, without investing. Its unusual architecture called for a custom design: several connection points and a panel layout built to maximise self-consumption. Skysun handled design, installation and monitoring, and the plant has produced green power for over a year.
Cutting a sports club's electricity bills by up to 40%
Skysun financed and installed a solar system on the David Lloyd club in Uccle, which now powers part of the club's daily activities. In service since 2023, it is a concrete step in the club's strategy to reach zero carbon by 2030.
Marché International MouscronnoisPublic & commercial real estate
Local solar power for the businesses of a market hall, and a swimming pool
Skysun and the intermunicipal utility IEG joined forces as IEGSUN to speed up the energy transition of Mouscron, Comines-Warneton and Estaimpuis. Their first project put more than 4,000 panels on the Marché International Mouscronnois, again with the Zinclike architectural solution. The power goes to the companies based on site, and the surplus supplies the Les Dauphins Olympic pool through a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA).
Calcaires de la Sambre runs a quarry in Montigny-le-Tilleul, near Charleroi. Skysun built a ground-mounted solar plant on unused land at the site, with panels designed for industrial conditions, so the company now produces a significant share of its own energy while making better use of its land.
“Grâce à Skysun, nous avons franchi une étape majeure dans notre démarche de durabilité. Le processus a été efficace, professionnel, et les résultats se voient déjà sur nos factures d’énergie et notre empreinte carbone.”
