About Nowa Market
Nowa Market, short for No Waste, is a zero-waste online grocery shop based in Laeken, Brussels, run by Nowa Market SRL since 2021. Its founder, Ophélie, struggled to combine a busy life with a zero-waste lifestyle and built the practical alternative she could not find. The range covers savoury and sweet groceries, fruit and vegetables, dairy, drinks, household and hygiene products, baby and pet products, from local producers such as Ginstberg, Pajottenlander and Local en Bocal. Everything comes in deposit packaging (jars, bottles, crates) that Nowa collects, washes and puts back into circulation, with a unique QR code on each jar to track returns. Orders are delivered the next day to the home, the office or more than 35 pickup points. Customers earn Nowa Coins for each zero-waste purchase and each jar returned, and can spend them or donate them to a charity. For companies, Nowa delivers to the office, turns offices into pickup points, supplies zero-waste snacks and runs sustainable team-building workshops.
