Linea Trovata is a Flemish family business that installed solar panels before subsidies and green certificates existed: it grew out of the La Trovata innovation working group set up in 1996 and started as a company in 2004. Today the group counts more than 20,000 projects, over 750 MWp of solar and over 50 MWh of batteries delivered, in all three Belgian regions as well as in France, Germany, Luxembourg and Slovakia. From its head office in Lokeren and its branches in Kontich and Ardooie, its own engineers, IT specialists, installation teams, maintenance technicians and switchboard builders carry a project from the first study to after-sales service, with more than 150 MWp of solar under maintenance. Linea Trovata is a recognised contractor, RESCert and VCA** certified, uses Tier 1 panels with at least 10 years of product warranty and 25 years of yield warranty, and operates its Linea Charge stations as an official charge point operator. Sister company Linea Trovata Warmtetechniek adds industrial heat pumps, as on ILVO's poultry research centre. As a PV Cycle collection point, it takes back old solar panels for recycling free of charge.
The strawberry auction combines a large rooftop solar plant with a 5 MWh battery container and Linea Trovata's own controls, which raise the share of solar power used on site. The control goes beyond panels and battery: the cooling of the strawberries is steered too. A DC fast charger of up to 480 kW was added recently to charge electric trucks.

A battery now absorbs those peaks: the upgrade was no longer needed and the farm's peak demand fell significantly. Solar panels and a new roof had been installed before.
Read the case studyAt the Zelzate-West interchange, Linea Trovata built a ground-mounted plant of 1,540 panels on metal structures for the Flemish roads agency. It supplies the nearby Debbaut and Zelzate tunnels and covers about half of their energy needs.

The carports turn car parks into energy sources without taking extra space, and protect cars from sun and rain, a good answer when roofs are fully used or cannot carry the ballast. Linea Trovata led the project from the first advice and profile analysis to after-sales service, with support from EU REPowerEU funding.
