Fairwind

Energy & BuildingsScope 2

Fairwind designs and builds compact vertical-axis wind turbines in Belgium and combines them with solar panels, solar carports and EV chargers, so SMEs, farms and local authorities produce their own green electricity on site.

About Fairwind

Fairwind is a Belgian sustainable energy company based in Fleurus. Founder Philippe Montironi started it in 2007 with a simple goal: bring wind power to as many SMEs as possible. The result is a vertical-axis small wind turbine designed, produced and assembled in Belgium, with more than 50 units installed in Belgium and abroad, including France, Zurich, Saudi Arabia and Antarctica. The range runs from the F100 (10 kW, 18 metres high) to a larger model, 32 metres high, for farms with higher consumption. The turbines are certified to IEC 61400-2 and IEC 61400-12, tested at the SEPEN small wind test site, and are 100% recyclable; Fairwind offers a 2-year equipment warranty and a buy-back guarantee after 10 or 20 years. Its engineers and technicians also install solar panels, solar carports, EV chargers and batteries, and Fairwind operates as a licensed green energy supplier for companies that want on-site power without the investment. The team works with its own 51-metre aerial-platform trucks and follows each installation through an online monitoring dashboard.
