CIRCULIFE
Sustainable ITWaste & CircularScope 3CIRCULIFE is a Belgian platform that tells IT fleet owners and their suppliers, device by device, whether repairing, upgrading or refitting a laptop, phone or tablet beats buying a new one, then reports the CO₂ that was bought and the CO₂ that the longer life avoided.
About CIRCULIFE
CIRCULIFE BV was founded in 2023 in Bonheiden, near Mechelen, by Virginie Versavel and Martijn Van Mierloo. Virginie brings more than six years in business development, supply chain and the circular economy, with a focus on electronics and on the operational leasing of ICT equipment. Martijn, a software engineer who built mobile and digital identity products, including at itsme, builds the calculation engine and the platform. The tool grew out of CIRCULIFE's work helping organisations get more life out of their phones, laptops and tablets through local repair and reuse. CIRCULIFE is supported by VLAIO and takes part in Circular Shift, an Interreg North-West Europe project funded by the European Union. From December 2024 to June 2028, the project brings together partners from five countries, including the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and the City of Mechelen, and aims to help 60 procuring organisations buy and manage office electronics and workwear in a circular way.
