EcoGreen Soft is Belgian software that switches off PoE devices (IP phones, Wi-Fi access points, cameras) when nobody needs them, cutting up to 40% of the IT electricity bill without changing any hardware.
About EcoGreen Soft
Founded in Namur in 2023, EcoGreen Soft develops software that plugs into a company's existing network switches and controls the power of every PoE port: on a schedule per device or zone, based on staff presence (geofencing), or on demand with a QR code scan in the mobile app. Devices go off at night, at weekends and during holidays, which also shrinks the network's attack surface outside working hours. Real-time reporting tracks the kWh saved and the CO₂ avoided for the carbon report. Deployment takes a few hours, with no new hardware or cabling. The Solar Impulse Foundation recognised the solution in 2024, and VivaTech 2026 gave it a Tech for Change award.

Switching off 2,000+ PoE devices when the offices are closed
Wallonia's public employment service runs 176 sites where more than 450 switches power over 2,000 PoE devices: IP phones, Wi-Fi access points, cameras and network equipment. They stayed on around the clock, even when the buildings were closed. EcoGreen Soft connected to the existing switches and now powers each port only when it is needed, from a single interface, with no cabling change, no hardware replacement and no service interruption. Result: 82 MWh of electricity, 23 tonnes of CO₂ and about €28,000 saved every year.
