Beyond reporting: turning energy into a new revenue stream
What if your energy strategy could reduce emissions and generate revenue?
That’s exactly what Hôtel Dolce La Hulpe achieved by partnering with Tapio and WISE. Energy. Together, they reimagined the hotel’s energy infrastructure, turning it into a smarter, greener, and more profitable system.
In 2024, the hotel began with a full carbon footprint assessment by Tapio. With a solid base already in place — including EV charging stations, solar panels, and heat pumps — WISE. Energy stepped in to optimise operations and uncover new revenue opportunities.
By integrating the hotel’s energy assets into the flexibility market, they enabled the building to support grid stability — and earn money doing it. This included smart energy management, new solar installations, and the use of a biodiesel-powered emergency generator as a grid resource.
The results
The first phase of the project brought impressive results:
- 45 tons of annual emissions reduction
- 94,500 € of additional revenue per year
- 3 and a half months to get a return on investment
In this case study, you will discover how these results were achieved — and how Hôtel Dolce La Hulpe plans to scale their impact even further in the second phase of the project.
