PlantC
Faced with the onset of biodiversity decline and climate change caused by humanity and its consumption patterns, it is urgent to rethink our relationship with the living world, here and now. We will not solve the challenges of the 21st century alone, but we want to do as much as we can and act where possible. PlantC’s mission is to support biodiversity, adapt our territories against climate change while mitigating its effects, in a partnership approach that puts humans at the center. All projects we undertake must meet four cumulative objectives:
1. Support biodiversity, through the creation or restoration of habitats or ecological corridors.
2. Contribute to carbon sequestration in soils or biomass, through photosynthesis.
3. Contribute to the adaptation of our territories by mitigating one or more risks: limiting soil erosion and mudslides, reducing the impact of cold or drying winds on crops, providing shade or alternative food resources for livestock, etc.
4. Contribute to a bio-based economy where humans and nature work in synergy: production of plants, biomass, fruits, etc.
We believe that businesses, public authorities, and citizens can contribute to these objectives with us and become our partners. Our partners deserve the best of us.
To accomplish our mission, we want to seize every opportunity, here, now, and until 2100. Our ambition is to shine from Belgium. To grow our team in line with our original values and those of our partners.
Our solution
We rethink your company’s land to make it a welcoming place for biodiversity. Specifically, we analyze your company’s situation from a landscape perspective, identify various biological points of interest nearby and the species present. Then, we visit your site to conduct a micro-scale land analysis and to listen to your industrial constraints. The combination of macro and micro-scale analyses allows us to consider a range of enhancements for the surrounding biodiversity so that your business can act as an ecological corridor or biodiversity area without disrupting your daily activities. Finally, we provide you with a management plan that includes all the information on the enhancements and their implementation. If you wish, we can support you throughout the implementation process, or you can hand over the plan to the green space company you work with. We are convinced that initiatives like these should be communicated internally to raise awareness among your employees and create internal synergies. That’s why we offer to create biodiversity murals specific to the enhancements we’ve made within your company so that employees can understand the value of such modules. We can be present during team building, family day, or even over an extended lunch break!
It’s important to remember that every surface and every action counts. Every company has leverage for impact on biodiversity, whether it acts on its land, however limited, raises awareness among its employees, or supports external projects. Would you like more information? Do not hesitate to contact us, we will be delighted to answer your questions.
